Opposition Party Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe pointed out the voting against the Vote of Accounts is a contradiction to law. He mentioned, a proposal should be informed to the assembly in regard to the submission of budget proposal initially was mentioned by him.

He said without submitting a proposal, to conduct directly a voting against the Vote of Accounts is much variation against the law was mentioned by him. Opposition party leader showed his stern oppose while the voting took place in regard to the petition submitted for the Vote of Accounts by Deputy Finance Minister Sarath Amunugama. Opposition Party Leader pointed out during the year 2003, according to the 3rd verse of the legal Act, budget proposals should be submitted annually, and failing, it should be officially informed to the Parliament was pointed out by him. Deputy Minister Sarath Amunugama has requested Opposition Party leader to obtain the assistance from Courts, as there are many legal crisis prevailing in the voting against the Vote of Accounts.
