Reports inform, President Mahinda Rajapake had informed to grant salary increase  from January 2010.  He said the salary increase would include the months of November and December.

President had informed, to solve the crisis prevailing among the workers, without depending on the Budget proposals, by utilizing the Executive Presidency; a decision would be taken to grant a settlement was mentioned by him. In the recent past, the trade unions corporate with the government, and he appealed them to forgo everything until December 31st. President said, his government gave hear to the problems of the working society. While President attended an event at Temple Trees, such statements were stated by him.
