The American Government is granting 750 scholarships to the youths from Sri Lankan north and eastern provinces. On this basis, the International Development Organization of America had recently granted 500 scholarships for males and females in the fields of Information Technology and Telecommunication system.

250 females and males from the eastern province too obtained scholarships other than this. The scholarships are given in the motive of filling the 39 percent vacancies which have occurred in the technical field in the entire Sri Lanka.
