In regard to the human rights abuses in Sri Lanka, America is continuously alleging accusations against Sri Lanka, which “ we are making the point that the relationship should not be one dimensional. There are many other things that Sri Lanka and the United States can do together,” was said by Peiris.

He said many movements which has its base in America are continuously tendering the war crimes and human rights violations about Sri Lanka. He said war has come to an end; hence many business opportunities have cropped up. The circumstances are propitious for a certain strengthening and deepening of the relationship between Sri Lanka and the United States,.” Peiris said he did not feel the focus towards human rights as bitter, but without submitting accusation, the awareness towards this, is much justice was mentioned by him. He said, in this instance the United America and Sri Lanka should get together and function in many activities, and in regard to this more attentiveness should be focused.

Meanwhile G.L.Peiris met some of the Senate Council members and in the forthcoming days, consent had been given to have meetings with them was mentioned by him. On the forthcoming Friday, G.L.Peiris will meet American State Secretary Hilary Clinton was also pointed out.
