The Election Department has decided to make fresh registrations for the voters in the Kilinochchi and Vavuniya districts. On this basis, action had been taken to visit all the houses and welfare centers in the mentioned two districts for making registrations for voters, on the forthcoming two months.

In view of making fresh registrations, a new election office was inaugurated at Kilinochchi yesterday. The election office was launched by Deputy Election Commissioner Mahinda Desapriya and Kilinochchi District Government Agent R.Keetheswaran. It was pointed out that proper information were not established in the voters list which is in existence in the two districts.
